Port Pci
Can anybody help me find out the Port Driver for PCI Parallel?
My brother has just reinstalled Windows XP Home. He has have all the drivers for audio,video,chipset,modem, except the Port Driver for PCI Parallel. He has done a web search on the the manufacturer’s website, but nothing helped. What should he do next?

I will presume here that you are asking about a PCI based parallel port add in card that you need a driver for as legacy drivers for most chip sets should be included with the motherboard driver set up anyway. By the way, this is what I am saying:

These have been deprecated and are mainly used for old printers. I still have a printer that can use it but it will also connect using USB. There were a few devices that would also use it but due to the rise of USB and its very wide acceptance and low cost of implementation as well as Microsoft’s active discouragement of it use, has fallen into disuse. I would suggest that if he doesn’t really need and use it, to consider not bothering with it.
As an alternative, he could check the card itself and if he sees a name there like MOSCHIP,( or a chip numbered like ‘Moschip MCS9815CV’), there are generic drivers either from that named maker or a similar vendor like Rosewill or Syba.
