How to install a desktop hard drive designed for Windows on a Mac?
I have a Seagate 500 GB External Desktop Hard Drive, in the picture is said for windows. When I connect it to the image of my iMac hard drive is mounted, but when you drag files to the hard drive the message "can not move product because "the expansion pack" can not be changed. I know there's a way to work with the Mac, but can not remember how.
Go to Applications> Utilities> Disk Utility and use it to format the hard drive in Mac OS Extended (Journaled). I have not done that in a few years, but I'm pretty sure what you have to do is "partition" and just repartition the hard disk partition. I have a 250 GB Seagate hard drive and it works fine now. But be careful their Seagate there only works with Macs back inless formatting. If you connect a Windows computer will not play.
